Effective October 10, 2026
This covers the Collier Entertainment website, collierentertainment.com, and the Collier Entertainment app. The short version: signing in is optional and only needs your email, we don't ask for your name, we don't run ads or ad trackers, and we never sell anything about you.
In plain words: your game saves and settings stay on your own phone or computer. A few outside services help the pages work (fonts, an animation library, a visitor counter and the Internet Archive). Like any website, they can see your internet address when your browser loads them. That's it.
What we don't do
- No passwords, and you never have to sign in to enjoy the site.
- No advertising networks, no ad tracking, no tracking pixels.
- No Google Analytics or similar tracking tools.
- No cookies, except the one sign-in cookie described below (only if you sign in).
- We don't sell, rent or trade information about you to anyone.
- We don't ask for your location, contacts, camera or microphone.
If you sign in
Signing in is optional and free. You type your email and we send you a one-time sign-in link. No password. Everyone who signs in is a Pine Knot Club member, at no cost.
- What we keep: your email address, the date you signed up, and any likes and star ratings you give. Nothing else.
- Sign-in emails: the link is sent by Resend (resend.com), an email delivery company. They get your email address only to deliver that message. Links work once and expire after 15 minutes.
- The sign-in cookie: after you tap the link, your browser keeps one small cookie that says you're signed in. It lasts 30 days or until you sign out. It isn't used for ads or tracking.
- Stopping abuse: to stop people flooding someone's inbox, we keep a scrambled (hashed) copy of the internet address that asked for a link. It's erased within a day or two.
- Where it's stored: on Cloudflare, which runs our sign-in service.
- Deleting your account: email us and we'll erase your email and sign-ins from our records right away.
No mailing list
We don't run a mailing list and never send newsletters or marketing email. The only email we send is the sign-in link or code you ask for.
What stays on your device
To remember things between visits, the site and app save small notes in your browser's own storage (called local storage). They stay on your phone or computer. We can't see them, and they are never uploaded to us.
- Game progress: Book Worlds stations you've cleared and abilities you've earned, Old Man Hunt saves and settings, coloring pages you've filled in.
- Settings: sound on or off, mute switches, calm or lively motion, button sounds, and whether a one-time intro has already played.
- Listening: where you left off in an episode or audiobook, so it can pick up there next time.
- Oil Studio: your paint palette.
- The Novel page: any page you type is kept in your own browser only. It is not sent anywhere.
- The app: badges you've earned, and the "test only" member switch.
To erase all of it, clear this site's data in your browser settings. On iPhone: Settings, Safari (on newer iPhones, Settings, Apps, Safari), Advanced, Website Data. On Android: Chrome, Settings, Site settings, All sites, collierentertainment.com, Clear and reset.
Offline copy (the app)
The app keeps a copy of its own screens, pictures and icons on your phone so it opens quickly and still works with a weak signal. This is done by a small helper built into your browser (a service worker). If you choose to download an episode for offline listening, that audio file is saved on your phone too. None of this is sent to us.
The visitor counter
Pages on the site show a visitor count. Each visit sends a simple "add one" to a free counter service (countapi.mileshilliard.com). We send no name, no ID and nothing you've typed, only which counter to add to. Like any web request, that service can see your internet address and browser type.
Outside services our pages load
When a page opens, your browser fetches a few files from other companies. They receive your internet address and basic browser details, the same as visiting any website, and they follow their own privacy policies.
- Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com), for the lettering.
- cdnjs by Cloudflare, for the animation library (GSAP) used for scrolling effects.
Our audiobooks, videos, radio shows and pictures are served from our own site. We don't embed YouTube.
Hosting
The site is hosted on GitHub Pages, and the collierentertainment.com name runs through Cloudflare. Like all web hosts, they may keep standard technical logs (such as internet addresses and which pages were requested) to keep the service running and safe. We don't use those to find out who you are.
Links to other sites
Some links take you elsewhere: Amazon (to buy the books), X, and our online games, which are hosted on grok.me. Those sites have their own privacy policies. Inside the app, these links open in your phone's regular browser.
Sharing and saving
Share buttons and "Save to Photos" use your phone's own share sheet. Your painting or link goes only where you send it. We don't see it.
If you email us
If you write to us, we get your email address and whatever you send. We use it only to answer you and never add you to a mailing list or pass it on.
Children
We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Signing in is optional and only asks for an email address. If you believe a child under 13 has signed in, email us and we'll delete the account. Please note that Old Man Hunt and the Old Man audiobook are scary horror stories meant for older listeners.
Purchases
Nothing can be bought inside the app. If that ever changes, we'll update this page first.
Changes
If how the site or app works changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
